スコットランド、グラスゴー出身のテクノ／ハウスプロデューサー。過去10年間にCarl Craig主宰のPlanet E、Laurent GarnierのGarnier's Fcom、Delsin等の著名レーベルから数々のレコードをリリースしている。エモーショナル＆ソウルフルなドライブ感溢れるサウンドで、デトロイトテクノの精神を提唱続けている。日本での人気も高い彼が、今回Labyrinthに初登場。本邦初公開となる野外フェスでのスピリチャルなテクノセットに期待したい。
Vince Watson has produced timeless techno and house records over the past decade for labels such as Carl Craig's Planet E, Laurent Garnier's Fcom, and Delsin. His music is always full of emotion, power, drive, and soul, and he has carried the original Detroit techno sound into the future.
Based in Glasgow, Scotland,Vince has been a well-loved figure in Japan for many years, but this year's Labyrinth will be his first chance to present his spiritual interpretation of techno outdoors in nature, where his mystical rhythms belong.
Donnacha Costello [ minimise / look long, ireland ]
コンピューターを通してエモーショナルなライブを繰り広げることが出来る数少ないテクノプロデューサー、Donnacha Costello。2006年ラビリンス最終日に披露してくれた珠玉のライブでは、Funktion-oneから降り注がれる音の粒子に圧倒されたオーディエンスも数知れず。夜明け前にスタートした前回のライブでは、幻想的なテクノで静かにフロアを温め、太陽が顔を出してからは彼の代表作"Colors series"のトラックを中心としたプレイでヒプノティックな空間を作り上げた。ファンからの熱いリクエストに応え、最新ライブセットを引き下げ３年ぶりにLabyrinthに登場する。今回も極上サウンドで、テクノフリークスを陶酔させることだろう。
Donnacha is one of those few techno artists who can express his emotions live via machines. Donnacha's live performance at sunrise on the final day of the Labyrinth 2006 is one my favorite Labyrinth memories.
He put on a storming show that had everyone looking around in stunned amazement at the sound pouring out of the speakers. Starting in the dark, Donnacha presented his new, more computer-driven and mind-bending sounds, and then when the sun rose, he moved into the hypnotic world of his classic Colors series.
In addition to blessing us with a live set, Donnacha has kindly agreed to play a deep ambient dj set on Saturday night after the sun goes down.

UK発のアンダーグラウンド・レーベルDownwardsそしてNYのInfrastructureからのリリースで知られるFunctionとRegisがタッグを組んで立ち上げた、インダストリアル・ミニマルレーベルSandwell District。またSandwell Districtはレーベルだけではなく、ハードなサウンドを得意とするRegisと、深海を漂うようなドーブでサイケデリックなテクノに緩やかなハウスのリズムを取り入れるFunctionの２人のプロジェクトとしても知られている。今回はNYアンダーグラウンドシーンの中心物として15年以上活躍中のFunctionことDave Sumnerがソロで来日。Labyrinthでは、ライブリミックスしたトラックに、SH-101シンセサイザーとTR-808＆TR-909ドラムマシーンサウンドを追加するという３時間のライブ＆DJハイブリットセットを披露。常に進化し続けるFunctionのセットをとくとご堪能あれ。
Sandwell District is THE underground techno label of the moment. Function and Regis, of Downwards and Infrastructure fame, have teamed up to rebuild techno in their own image. While Regis is best-known for hard beats, Function stands for all things deep, psychedelic, and aquatic in techno, and has brought slower house rhythms to purist techno structures.
Function, aka Dave Sumner, has been an underground hero of the New York techno scene for the past 15 years, and is now bringing a unique technical approach to his set. For Labyrinth, he will be playing a 3-hour live-dj hybrid set, where he remixes tracks on the fly from the computer while layering over live sounds coming from an SH-101 synth and TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines.
Peter Van Hoesen [ time to express , belgium ]
Peter an Hoesenは、ディープかつフィジカルなテクノを世に送り出すべく、Time To Expressレーベルを設立。満員の大箱で、一心不乱に音に身を委ねていた古き良き時代を彷彿とさせるサウンドを次々とリリースしている。
2008年にはNorman NodgeとSamuli Kemppiのリミックスもフィーチャーした自身のトラックをリリース。2009年に入ってからは勢力的に活動の幅を広げており、Eavesdropperとタグを組んだ新ユニットSendai、新鋭フィーメルプロデューサーDio D'Or、Donato Dozzyなど、数々の良質なトラックをリリースしている。
昨年のLabyrinthで披露した圧倒的なDJとLiveセットで、プロデューサーのみならずDJとしての人気も急上昇中のPeterが、今年はよりディープでオーガニック、そしてサイケデリックな最新エクスクルーシブ・ライブを展開。Labyrinthクオリティーのサウンドで、今年もフロアを唸らせることだろう。
Peter Van Hoesen founded Time To Express as an outlet for deep, physical techno music. The releases on Time To Express yearn for playback in cavernous, sweaty spaces, where throbbing bass and deep heartbeats collide. In 2008 the label had releases by Peter Van Hoesen, featuring remixes by Norman Nodge and Samuli Kemppi. 2009 saw the label expanding its horizons, with releases by Sendai (his new project with Eavesdropper), Cio D’Or, and Donato Dozzy.
Since Peter's stunning live and dj sets last year at Labyrinth, his star has risen fast, both as a producer and a dj. This year he's performing a brand new live set constructed just for Labyrinth. In his words, it's deeper, more organic, and more pyschedelic. Sounds good to us...
Koss aka Kuniyuki [ mule musiq , japan ]
札幌を拠点に活動するKossこと高橋クニユキ。KUNIYUKIやKUNI名儀ではdeephouseやjazzシーンでのダンスミュージックで世界の 音楽ファンを魅了させているが彼のelectroやtechno、ambientなどの要素を実験的に取り入れたUNITがKOSSである。2000 年 Koss名義の「Ring」をリリース、2001年Big Chillへの参加により、国内外のアーティスト、メディアから一気に注目を集める事となる。2005年Kompakt系列Mule Electronicより、2枚のEP、未発表曲を収録した作品をリリース。そして2006年7月にKossの待望の2ndアルバム「Four Worlds Converge as One」をリリースする。このアルバムはambientとminimalismを主体にした実験的な作品で、よりdeepな作品となっている。そして 2006年ビックフェスティバルSonarJapanでliveを披露し、ジェフミルズに大絶賛される。現在KOSSでの新曲を制作中で新たなる世界をク リエイトしている。
The blog mnml ssgs aptly describes Kuniyuki: “He’s worked with (or been re-worked by) YMO’s Haruomi Hosono, Terre Thaemlitz, Theo Parrish, Heinrik Schwarz, Cobblestone Jazz, Tony Lionni, Chateau Flight, and a Mountain of One (among others). He’s also released three extraordinary albums in the past few years: with pianist Saiko Tsukamoto as Saikoss (somewhere between nsi’s play’s non-standards and Ryuichi Sakamoto’s solo piano work); with various collaborators as Kuniyuki for All These Things, which stretched effortlessly between ambient, jazz/house and techno; and, finally, as Koss. The 2006 Koss album Four Worlds Converge as One is, to me, easily one of the best ambient albums of the last few years.”
For this year’s Labyrinth we are fortunate to have Koss perform two live sets: one tech-house dance set in the afternoon, and one ambient set to close the first day of music after sunset on Sunday.
Donato Dozzy [ aguaplano / dozy records , italy ]
いわゆる世にいる一般的なDJ層とは一線を画したDonato。13歳よりすでにレコード収集が始まり、とはいえ大学で政治学の博士号まで取得しているそ の経歴は異色。Lan Muzic、Persona、そして自らのレーベルであるDozzy Records等から発表された最近のリリースは全て、彼自身が提唱する”マイクロトランス”と呼ばれるテイストに集約される。高精細な音素材から構築さ れたこのトランスミュージックは、繰り返されるループが聴く者を徐々にディ－プな次元へと導く特徴を持ち、山や霧がよく似合う。そういう意味で今回のセッ トは環境とマッチした中で彼のセットを聴けることを願って止まない。
昨年のLabyrinthではアンビエントそしてダンスセットの２つを披露。その ディープかつエモーショナルなセットに涙したオーディエンスも少なくない。３回目の登場となる今年のLabyrinthでは、いったいどんな魔法を掛けて くれるのか、今から楽しみで仕方がない。

Donato Dozzy is the sound of the Labyrinth. Donato plays drawn-out, hypnotic, timeless techno for spacing out to, for reaching and touching certain places. He puts it best himself: “This music goes with the nature, that’s the point. If it depended just on me, I would have made only parties in open air. The music has to take its time. Certain sounds need to be in touch with the sky, with the stars and people need to know that. When you are inside of a club, it can be the best club in the world, but you cannot see the stars, you cannot really put the hands up of your head and just feel the touch with something.”
Like last year, Donato will be playing the final set of the Labyrinth, an extended trip into deep techno and mental trance, in addition to a trippy night-time set of spacey ambient.
Marcus aka Minilogue [ cocoon / wagon repair , sweden ]
Minilogue/Son Kiteの一員としてのみならず、DJプレイも非常に高 い評価を受けているMarcus。ミニマルサウンドをベースに、ジャン ルを越えたグルーブ感たっぷりの彼のスタイルは、幅広い層に支持されて いる。Minilogue/Son Kiteのライブで鍛えられたフロアー・コント ロール力は流石の一言。
Labyrinthではライブ以外に、DJとしてもなじみのアーティストとして欠かせない存在となっているMarcus だが、2006年のLabyrinthを締めくくるセットで、彼が Nathan Fakeの"The Sky Was Pink(James Holdedn remix)"を掛けた 時に、それまで曇っていた空が夕暮れと共に深いピンク色に染まった奇跡 は、その場に居たすべての人々に忘れられない感動を与えたことは今や伝 説となっている。Labyrinthファンに愛されているMarcusだが、今回のLabyrinthをもって一旦DJ活動を休止する。今まで数々の素晴らしい思い出を与えてくれた彼の勇姿をぜひとも見届けてほしい。
Marcus is no stranger to the Labyrinth, having played numerous times both as a dj and live as Minilogue. The moment he played James Holden’s “The Sky Was Pink”—at the final sunset of the Labyrinth 2006, when the sky actually turned deep pink—was a moment few who there will forget.
Marcus is best known for mind-bending psychedelic productions as Minilogue and Son Kite, both together with Sebastian Mullaert. Minilogue live is serious next-level electronic music, jammed and constructed live in real-time.
For this year’s set, Marcus has prepared loads of special edits and loops of unreleased Minilogue and K.A.B. material for the world to hear for the first time. This promises to be a very special and personal set, for many reasons, as this will be a farewell to dj'ing for Marcus for quite some time.
Three [ hallucination , us ]
90年代初頭より、アンダーグランドミュージックシーンにおいては世界ナンバーワンとも言われるThree。曲の新旧を問わず、アシッドハウズ、テクノ、エレクトロニカまでを駆使して自由自在にオーディエンスを操るユニークな展開力は、その言われに恥じないものである。また今年からは自身のレーベルHallucination Limitedも再開、今後も時代を先取りした作品をリリースしていくことだろう。
Josh WinkやDoc Martin同様、Threeのその幅広い音楽への嗜好性はAndrew Weatherall、Laurent Garnierに通じるものがある。偏見の無い音楽への視点をもってして、DJ Times Magazineのアニバーサリー企画"DJX20"では、アメリカのアンダーグランドダンスミュージックを語る上で欠かせない20人のDJの１人としてプロファイルされた。
DJとしての才能も去ることながら、Threeは非常にオープンマインドなキャラクターの持ち主としても有名である。ハウス・テクノのルーツを感じさせつつも、カッティングエッジな最新の音楽を私たちに示してくれる、まさにDJの中のDJと言えるだろう。
Three has been tirelessly holding the flag for underground electronic music in the US since the early 90's. Armed with a sound that borrows equally from vintage acid-house, techno and underground electronica, his Hallucination Limited imprint is held in the highest regard and has released some of the most forward-thinking dance music of the last decade.
Coming from the school of American DJs like Josh Wink and Doc Martin, Three has a wide ranging musical palate akin to Andrew Weatherall or Laurent Garnier, and was recently featured as part of DJ Times Magazine’s DJX20 Anniversary profile series as one of twenty DJs who embody the spirit of the American underground along others such as Josh Wink.
Aside from his natural ability on the decks, Three sets himself apart from the rest of the pack by presenting eclectic sounds with an open-minded attitude towards everything he does. From DJ sets to musical output, Three is a "DJ's DJ" who has always leaned toward the cutting edge without losing touch with the roots of house and techno.
Daniel Bell [ accelerate / 7th city / logistic , us ]
90年代初頭のデトロイトにおいて、今は亡き伝説のレーベル・ACCELERATEや7TH CITYを中心に活躍し、若き日のRICHIE HAWTIN やJOSH WINK といったアーティストに多大なる影響を与えた孤高のミニマリスト・DBX aka DANIEL BELL。彼の代表作であるシカゴアシッド定番SLEEZY D.”I’ve Lost Control”をネタにしたどろどろにマッドなトリップ・ミニマル”Losing Control”をはじめ、RICK WADE やTHEO PARRISH もカタログに名を連ねるELEVATE から発表された、JEFF MILLS とはまた異なった手法を用いたスペーシー・ミニマル”The Wild Life”など、多くの作品がリリースから10～15 年以上を経過した現在でも全くその効力を失っていない。
The word legend is used too often when talking about artists and labels, but there’s no doubt that Daniel Bell is a proper legend. In the early 90’s, Dan helped launch a new minimal aesthetic in techno and house music by reducing the sound of Detroit into funky streamlined grooves. In addition to his timeless and still influential releases as DBX, such as “Losing Control”, Daniel Bell has released two of the most highly praised mix albums ever, “The Button Down Mind of Daniel Bell” (Tresor, 2000) and “The Button Down Mind Strikes Back ” (Logistic, 2003).
Two years ago at Taicoclub Dan won the hearts of thousands of fans with a stunning morning set, and this year he’s excited to join the Labyrinth family, and play on the monster Labyrinth sound system, for the first time.
Dave Mothersole [ swag / new groove , uk ]
Terry Francis、Eddie Richards、Nathan Coles等と共に、そのスタイルを'ロンドンテックハウス'と並び称されるDave Mothersole。4年間に渡るLabyrinthの出演を通して、多くのクラウドに印象深いセットを贈り続けて来た。はるか昔にインド、ゴアのビーチパーティー黎明期を経験し、イギリスに帰国後はアシッドハウスの巨大なムーブメントの火付け役の一人となる。その後も長いキャリアの中で着実にその音楽コレクションを増やし続け、かつて経験した'アンダーグランドレイブ'の精神と共に、自身のスタイルを築き上げた。ロンドンの有名なラジオショー'kiss100'ではショーケースとしてアンダーグランドハウスミュージックを包括的に表現。このオンエア通して彼を知った人も多いだろう。本来の'テックハウス'を絵に描いたようなDJ。それがDave Mothersoleなのだ。
Dave Mothersole (along with Terry Francis, Eddie Richards, and Nathan Coles) helped define the original London tech-house sound. Dave participated in some of the first open-air beach parties twenty years ago in Goa, and then returned to England to begin his life as an acid house dj. He has kept the eclectic spirit of the early underground raves alive and spins a personal blend of vinyl collected over the years.
Dave's wide taste in music varies across vintage acid house, classic London tech-house, trancey techno, and cosmic house. His emotional sets at the Labyrinth the past four years come from the heart and have always made a deep impression on the crowd.
Will Saul [ aus music / simple records / balance , uk ]
ディープ且つ近未来的なハウス・テクノをリリースするダンスフロア仕様のSimple Recordsと、より普段の生活の中で楽しめる音楽を中心としたAus Musicと、コンセプトを分たふたつのレーベルを主宰するWill Saul。初期のデトロイトテクノから影響を受けたDJセット、また彼自身のプロダクションはディープでダビーなディスコハウス・テクノ。
Balanceシリーズの15作目を担当し、Aus MusicからダブルCD"All Night Long"をリリースし、更には彼自身のセカンドフルアルバムのリリースを来春に控えたWill Saul。昨年のTRI-BUTE以来、2度目の来日で、また違う新しい何かを聞かせてくれるに違いない。
Will Saul is the producer and DJ behind Simple Records and Aus Music. Simple Records' musical focus is futuristic house and techno for the deeper end of the dance floor, while Aus Music is designed more for albums and the home, couch, headphones, or car. His sound is based in deep dub-disco-house-techno (!) with flashes of soul and irresistible melodies that hark back to the early days of Detroit (from Motown to Planet E). Both his own productions and his dj sets exude color, melody, and emotion.
Will just released a double CD “Aus Music…All Night Long” and is about to release a triple mix cd, the 15th installment of the prestigious Balance series. He also has second full artist album coming out in Spring 2010. Will got a first taste of Japan last year when he came out for Tri-Bute party in Tokyo. Now we’re going to show him something a little different…
Marcel Fengler [ berghain / ostgut , germany ]
テクノファンなら一度は訪れてみたいクラブNo.1のBerghain/Panorama BarレジデントDJであり、同クラブ主宰のレーベルOstgut Tonにも所属するMarcel Fengler。レーベルメイトのBen KlockやMarcel Dettmanとの親交も深く、近年のミニマルテクノとは一線を画すダイナミックなテクノでレーベルの質を高めている。なお、自身のスタイルについて、このように語っている「DJプレイをする上で一番重要としてるのがストーリー性なんだ。様々な時代の様々なスタイルのサウンドを使って、メリハリの効いたセットを作るのが好きなのさ。一晩を通じて、色んな物語を感じてもらえるセットを作れるよう心がけてるよ」Berghainではオープニングアクトを務めることが多い彼は、ジャンルレスなサウンドでフロアを徐々に温めることを得意とし、Labyrinthでも日曜日の幕開けを担当。これから始まる長いサウンドジャーニーの最高のプロローグとなることだろう。
Marcel is one of the resident dj’s of the current techno capital of the clubbing world, the Berghain in Berlin, and an artist on its label, Ostgut Tongrager. Alongside his friends Ben Klock and Marcel Dettman, Marcel is defining a brand of propulsive, dynamic techno far removed from the minimalism of the past few years. Marcel Fengler describes his style: “It is important to me that music tells a kind of story using varied styles from all eras. That’s why I favor to build my sets up, then down again. It has to be varied and it has to snake through the night in waves.”
At the Berghain, Marcel often opens the evening and is well-trained in warming up a crowd with diverse sounds, so he’s well-suited to his task at this year's Labyrinth of opening on Sunday morning.
Eric Cloutier [ the bunker / down , us ]
NYのアンダーグラウンド・テクノ・イベント"The Bunker"のレジデントDJ。幅広い選曲と卓越したミキシングスキルで、コアなテクノファンから絶大な支持を得ている。他にもNYでフリーパーティー"Down"をオーガナイズし、bmp120以下のトラックを中心とした、フロアではなかなか聴くことのないサウンドを展開。テクノパーティーで掛けることのない曲にスポットライトを当て、普段とはまた違ったクラブが楽しめる一夜となっている。Eric自身がDJをスタートするきっかけとなった親友のDaniel Bellと共にLabyrinthに初登場、EricとDanielの夢の共演がLabyrinthで実現する。
Eric Cloutier is resident dj of New York’s premier underground techno event, The Bunker. He combines passionate record-collecting with supreme mixing precision to create sets that satisfy the serious techno connoisseur. Eric also runs a unique night in New York called “Down”. In the words of a true music lover, he describes it as: “Always free, guests here and there. Almost never breaking 120bpm. It was basically created out of my own personal desire to hear something outside of the normal dancefloor affair, as well finally use some music that I've owned and adored for years that I never get to play.”
To play at Labyrinth with the man who inspired him to be a dj, his close friend Daniel Bell, is a dream that we are happy to make come true for Eric. Eric, welcome to Japan, and welcome to the Labyrinth.
Eavesdropper [ knobsounds / time to express , belgium ]
Eavesdropper、別名Yves De Meyは、ドラムンベースDJとして音楽キャリアをスタート。その後、演劇、パフォーマンスアート、ダンス、そして映画音楽のプロデュースまで手がけるなど、幅広い音楽活動を行っている。また同じくブリュッセル出身のDJ/プロデューサーPeter Van Hoesenとの交流も深く、PeterとのユニットSendai名義でもTime to Expressからトラックをリリースしている。またDJとしてはダブ、ダブステップ、テクノ、エクスペリメンタル・エレクトロニカなど様々なジャンルを取り入れたロングセットを得意とする。Labyrinthでは月曜日の夜明けと共に、独自のエレクトロニックワールドを繰り広げる。
Yves De Mey, aka Eavesdropper, started out as a drum’n’bass dj and then moved on to produce experimental music for theatre, performances, dance, and movies. Yves is also a good friend of fellow Brussels dj and producer Peter, with whom he has teamed up with to produce music as Sendai on Peter’s Time to Express label.
As a dj, his specialty is blending dub, dubstep, techno, and experimental electronica over the course of long sets. Eavesdropper is going to open Monday morning at sunrise with his personal take on electronic sounds.

Antonio GiovaとValerio Gomez de Ayalaからなるイタリア・ナポリ出身のDJデュオ。「長年に渡って影響を受けたエレクトロニック・ミュージックを通じて自分たちの世界観を表現することに喜びを感じる」という彼らのサウンドは、非常にディープで奥深い。コアなテクノファンの間で人気のミュージック・ブログmnml ssgsにアップされているミックスはまさに一聴の価値あり。鳥肌が経つほどディープでトリッピーなサウンドは、聴くものの想像力をどこまでも掻き立てる。普段クラブで慣れ親しんでいるサウンドよりスローでディープな彼らのDJセットは、Donato Dozzyと同じく星空の下で聴くのがピッタリだ。夕暮れ時からスタートする今回のプレイは、Labyrinthの初日のラストを飾るのに相応しい物となるだろう。
Natural/electronic.system are a dj team duo from Napoli, Italy. Antonio Giova and Valerio Gomez de Ayala say about their style: “The thing we like most is expressing our deeper feelings through the electronic music that influenced us in years and years of listening and research.”

Like their good friend Donato Dozzy, natural.electronic.system play music best suited for outdoors under the stars and sky. Their style is slower and deeper than you hear in most clubs, but perfect for finishing the first day of Labyrinth at sunset.

DJとしてのみならず、オーガナイザーの一角を担いつつ、7年に渡ってLabyrinthを支え続けてきたSo。本業であるグラフィックデザイナーとして、また夢であるサッカー選手と、3足の草蛙を履きつつ、多忙な日々を送る多動症。そんな中、年に1度のLabyrinthは彼にとってもはや彼の人生の一部であり、これまでのDJキャリアを語る上で欠かせない。その場の雰囲気や時間帯に合わせたセットは、メロウなディープハウスから、時にアップリフティングなテックハウスまで、多くの引き出しの中から選曲される。常にエモーショナルで、カラフルなバイブに包まれたセットで今年もフロアを魅了してくれるだろう。
Dj So has been a central part of the Labyrinth for the past seven years not only as a dj, but also as one of the organizers. A man of many talents, So keeps busy in his job as a graphics designer during the week and as a heavily booked dj on the weekend. He also organizes events as Tri-Bute and leads a soccer team in his spare time. Currently So tends to play a mix of more mellow deep house sounds mixed up with jacking tech-house, always with a colorful vibe.

Soと共にMindgames、LabyrinthのレジデントDJを務めるHiyoshi。癒し系のアンビエントDJとしては国内屈指。Labyrinthにおいてもその役割は明確で、今年は4日間のエクスペリエンスの序章となる、初日の夜のウェルカムセットを4時間に渡って披露する。
Together with So, Hiyoshi is the other resident dj for Mindgames and the Labyrinth. Hiyoshi is Japan’s gentle ambient master. For this year’s Labyrinth, he is going to play a 4-hour welcoming set on Saturday night to greet the first wave of party-goers and lull the campground to sleep for the first night before dance music begins the following morning.
