Balance 2025

May 16-18

Minakami Hodaigi Camp Site

concept

After a two-year break we are bringing back our Spring event, Balance. Balance is like a younger sibling to Labyrinth--similar spirit, but different vibes. And just like Labyrinth, Balance features three full days of sound.

This year's Balance is built from three motivations.

First, we love the intimate atmosphere of Balance. Since the event is limited in size, it feels like a neighborhood gathering of old friends. Everyone can park inside the venue directly; there are no shuttle buses; and the staff can have as much fun as you:)

Second, we have discovered many new artists here in Japan that inspire us. We want to connect with them and have them join us, expanding the Mindgames family. We have an amazing line-up this year featuring both old and new friends, with a focus on local artists.

And finally, this year's Balance gives us an opportunity to design a sound system using only next-generation Funktion-One Evo speakers. We had a chance to use these speakers as center fills at last year's Labyrinth, and the sound was incredible. There are not enough of these speakers in Japan for Labyrinth, but there are enough for Balance. So this year's Balance is a sonic experiment to create the best sound we have ever heard at any Mindgames event. We hope to learn from this experiment, and bring new knowledge to Labyrinth later...

Intimate neighborhood of friends.
New artistic connections.
Advanced sound design.

All in equal balance.
